The Iowa City Landfill on the southwest side of the city caught fire yesterday. It has broken through the containment lines of the landfill and is expected to continue burning for days. Even the lining of the landfill is on fire.

Nearly two years ago, 12-year old Sarah Nicole Perkins was hit by a boat on the Coralville Reservoir and killed. Her parents have decided to file a lawsuit against the operators of the boats two years after the death.

A 4 -year old let the landlord into an apartment on yesterday afternoon after the tenant's father reported he hadn't heard from his son for a few days. The landlord found that the boy had been staying by the side of his dead father's body.
