Iowa City pulls recruitment video from its website

A recruitment video for the Iowa City Police Department has caused some concerns with the community members and, as a result, has been taken off the police department's website.

The Iowa City Police Department posted the recruitment video that suddenly raised concerns over three years ago. It has been on the website without complaint for that long - until now. The community suddenly became very concerned with the video.

The video, according to kcrg.com, lasts about two minutes long. It shows the Iowa City police officers executing search warrants, fully armed. The music played for the video is by the rock band Saliva.

The video had previously not been a concern for the community, but it has recently gained interest. The city manager of Iowa City issued a letter to the police department about the content and music video that is used.

The police officers in the video are armed and the content is slightly violent. The accompanying music has aggressive lyrics as well.

Even though the video is a commonly used type of recruitment video for police departments all over the country, the Iowa City Police Department responded to the concerns by removing the video from its site.

Luckily, the impact on the website will not be significant because the police department already had plans to create a new recruitment video, citing reasons that it is an old video and a new one needs to be made. The police department announced that it is already working on a new video.
