Sweet Set to Go Before Judge

17-year old Isaiah Sweet, suspected of murdering his grandparents in the home where he stayed with them, is set to go before the judge today in Clayton County on the double homicide charge.

Reports state that Janet Mae and Richard Lee Sweet were found dead in their homes after a 911 call on Sunday afternoon, hours after Isaiah Sweet himself was released from police custody for a curfew violation.

The warrant was released for the arrest and the investigation began on Sunday. It continued, and much was uncovered about the deaths, Isaiah himself and the family at the time.

Autopsy reports showed that the elderly couple died of gunshot wounds. Claims came out that Isaiah made phone calls before the bodies were discovered, stating that he had killed his grandparents, but the information had not reached the police station before his release for the curfew violation.

Sweet was identified as a troubled teen who experienced a lot of family problems, especially involving his grandparents. Neighbors stated that he had fallen in with the wrong crowd.

There have been discoveries of a lot of fighting and other problems within the family that could have helped to lead up to the incident. Some of the problems allegedly revolved around Isaiah's estranged mother as well, who resides out of state, while others were exclusively with the grandparents and Isaiah himself.

Sweet is expected to have appeared at the courthouse at 1 p.m. and will face two counts of first degree murder and is charged as an adult according to cbsnews.com.
