New Jeopardy Contestant from Iowa City

Today's episode of Jeopardy! was host to someone that came right from Iowa City. Ernest Nino-Murcia competed on a previously taped episode of the show that was set to air today.

As will be announced in the beginning of the episode, Ernest Nino-Murcia is 32-years old and is a legal interpreter. He is a 1998 high school graduate of West High, which is located in Iowa City.

Nino-Murcia did not plan to take the test in hopes of winning a spot on Jeopardy. He had never even actually watched the show on a regular basis, and took the test as a completely random decision.

When he won a spot on the show on a regular basis, Nino-Murcia actually began to watch the show in order to prepare for being on it.

Nino-Murcia's strategy did not actually involve just studying to prepare for the show. A lot of his attention was focused on the buzzer itself and learning how to properly work it, according to his own affirmations.

Nino-Murcia, as a contestant, was not allowed to discuss the outcome of the episode before it actually aired, but did speak positively about the results and the experience of being on the show.

He was grateful to be cast on the show and had very low expectations about his success, so he was not at all displeased after the taping. The episode of Jeopardy! was set to come on this afternoon, so results of the show have now been released after it aired.
