Every major news outlet is already on the scene, and we better be too. The Owl will now be making an advanced effort to bring you more coverage of the Iowa City Flooding, as up to date possible.
First, some major developments. I-380 is closed between Highway 30 and County Home Road, a span that covers all of Cedar Rapids. Also, the Cedar River is now crossing Highway 1, which will soon be closed as well. Sandbaggers are critically needed, and more updates, especially related to the University can be found on this blog.
Several places in Iowa City are already being evacuated, including Residents in a couple mobile home parks, places along the Iowa River, and more. Officials are asking people stay away from roadways in the area so that emergency equipment and service vehicles can get through.
