Floodwaters Rising Could Mean Disaster

Floodwaters continue to rise, not expecting to crest until well above any possibly normal flood zone. Several dangers are, of course, imminent in such a flood situation.

Richard, who works for Facilities Management, told of one potentially devastating situation. He said "if enough debris is caught under the bridge, it could take out the whole bridge."

Debris trapped underneath the Burlington bridge might cause enough pressure to take out the bridge, which may in turn take out steam pipes connected to the station along the river, knocking out power to the entire campus, causing massive chain reactions of problems.
