Amidst theory that the Burlington bridge, almost essentially the last surviving link between east and west, will be closed, the bridge fortunately remains open for those needing to travel in this dangerous time. Sandbaggers, however, were already hard at work placing sandbags on the east side of the bridge, protecting campus buildings within the potential floodzone. Non-essential university employees have been told not to report to work from Saturday, June 14 through Saturday June 21 do to the flooding, but they will be paid for their absence. These employees are instead encouraged to work on sandbagging, etc.
2:38pm - Volunteers are asked to report to the University Services Building, which is located along Prentiss street. Those who are not volunteering are encouraged to stay away from campus. Roads could need to be closed at any time.
